Hi,
How long does a IP typically hold your details and data for after a trust deed is completed?

Hi amorphous.

Firms will have their own policies on this.

Many firms will have reviewed these policies in the run up to GDPR being introduced recently.

I recently contacted mine to get details of old accounts I had in a trustdeed from 2006. In that case I was glad they had the information!

Still I can see why it might be concerning.

Amorphous

Under the previous data protection legislation, an individual was able to hold data if is had a reason to do so. There are many reasons a trustee is required to hold data - tax purpose, to document decision process etc.

Under new GDPR rules, I suspect many IP firms are reviewing data retention and coming up with a plan to destroy data they do not have a reason to hold.

hope this helps
