Received letter from my trustee advising that trust deed is now registered with AIB, and has protected status. This is great, and it means that I can get on with my life.
Unfortunately I am still getting calls/texts from Barclaycard several times a day. I have answered them before, but they just don't understand what PTDs are, or don't listen. These are all 0844 type numbers, so I now ignore them as I don't have the incliniation or time to answer them while at work.
I have emailed my Trustee to see if there is anything they can do to stop this.
Are these calls something I should be unduly worried about?
Would appreciate the experts comments on this. |

Hello mcbz9,
It can take some creditors a while to update their files.
You have done the right thing in notifying your Trustee who should now communicate with Barclaycard requesting that they cease contacting you.
There is nothing at all for you to worry about now that your Scottish Trust Deed is protected. I can certainly understanding that the current contact will be annoying but it should stop soon. |

Hello mcbz9
Unfortunately this can be a common occurance, but it's nothing to worry about. Hopefully your Trustee will deal with it for you. If you continue to receive correspondence from your creditors, forward this to your trustee also.

Thanks for your comments. Hopefully it wont be anything to worry about, although easier said than done!
I just got home, and had a letter from a debt collection agency, (Capital Credit Agencies for Egg), saying that unless I got in touch immediately they could send someone to the house. I called them, and advised again of the situation, but they still wanted payment. Every time I speak to one f these creditors I get the impression they dont understand what a protected trust deed is.
I contacted my trustee again, and will be passing the letter on. |

To be honest I don't think some in debt collection departments do know what a Scottish Trust Deed is, or what it means for their collections efforts.
A bit more training and internal communication needed at some firms I think. |

Hi mcbz9
In my experience, Barclaycard are by far the worst.
But your IP should persevere and this will stop. Julie and TDA are correct, it's more an inconvenience and nothing to worry about.
